Influencing Recycling Behaviour with Influencers!

Tue 5 Nov 2024

For Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week 2024, MobileMuster has partnered with some of Australia’s biggest youth influencers to help drive mobile recycling awareness. The campaign, developed in partnership with PR agency Sefiani, launched 28 October and will run through National Recycling Week, 11-17 November.

Through comprehensive research, the team behind the campaign found 4x Australian influencers that were best placed to spread the word of MobileMuster. The influencers had to have a strong Australian audience, and be good at speaking to youth audiences, who are the key target for this campaign. The chosen influencers are;

Each influencer is creating 2x videos about mobile recycling across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Each video is developed in their own style and tone of voice to ensure the content comes across as authentic and non ad-like. Research shows that social proof is a key motivator for recycling, so getting these popular internet stars to show themselves recycling is expected to make big waves with the audience, and ultimately drive recycling action for National Recycling Week.  Each video is also being ‘boosted’ on their respective social media platforms, ensuring maximum reach and efficacy for the campaign. If successful, this may be an ongoing activity for MobileMuster.

To bolster this activity, MobileMuster is also a key sponsor of National Recycling Week, partnering with Planet Ark to support the activities happening all over the country. Planet Ark have developed articles and social media posts about mobile recycling and have shared them across their platforms. This ongoing partnership with Planet Ark has helped spread the word of mobile recycling, with their website ‘Recycling Near You‘ providing specific locations on where to recycle old phones.

Ensure to recycle your old phones for National Recycling Week this year, and keep an eye out for our influencer content!
